PIAF was founded in 2018 by Bo Bertilson and Björn Bragée as a physical community for discussions and lectures on ME/CFS
We started with local meetings and journal clubs once every month, and the group growed. Our administrator, secreterary Mona Esbjörnson went on board the summer 2019, and our research coordinator Per Sjögren in 2020. All work is voluntary and not reimbursed, but Bragee Clinics sponsors with IT solutions, meeting facilities and so forth.
In march 2020 we had our first zoom meeting due to the Corona pandemic, and members from other nordic countries started to participate. We also changed to English for international understanding. Our aim is to gather researchers at our Alma Mater, Karolinska Institutet and all collaborators and others interested in Pain, Inflammation and Fatigue.
